True Mosaics Studio & Institute of Mosaic Art are located at the corner of Chapman and Derby Streets in the Jingletown Art district of Oakland California.
We are located off the 880 Freeway and about 5 miles from the Oakland Airport. Out studio is easily accessed by BART, the subway/ elevated train. The closest BART station is Fruitvale, which is about a 10 minute walk from the Studio.
Many students from out of town stay at Executive Suites Inn on Embarcadero in Oakland. Although not close to many amenities, there is a free shuttle, which will take guests to places within a 5-mile radius, which means students can get dropped off and picked up at the Studio.
For students planning on renting a car or for those who want closer proximity to amenities such as restaurants, movies and shops, students can try hotels in the Jack London Square area, which is about a 10 minute drive or less from the Studio. There is also an Amtrak station in Jack London Square.
