Calling all Artists and Members of the Arts Community (and all communities!)
Hello Friends and Neighbors,
I am part of a group of 25 artists who are helping to build a giant wall of decorated and altered gears to help honor and raise funds for a dear old friend Todd Blair, who is recovering from a injury as a result of a tragic accident that happened last fall. All funds raised thru sponsoring a "Gear Artist" will go directly to Todd and his amazing wife Alex to help them thru this recovery period.
I have known Todd for a dozen years and he is a great soul, amazing artist and wonderful man. Todd is an artist (primarily working in metal), sculptor and instructor at CCA and has been working with a group called Survival Research Labs (SRL) for many years. Todd suffered a traumatic brain injury after an SRL show in Amsterdam and we are banding together and asking for help from the art and human community.
I am decorating a 24" metal gear with mosaic to be part of "a giant kinetic sculpture of gears, each modified by an individual or group, and when completed will be a tribute to an exceptional human, artist, teacher, producer, being."
For moire information about Todd Blair please see: www.toddblair.wordpress.com
