2 Month Artist Residency Available at True Mosaics Studio and Institute of Mosaic Art in Jingletown Arts District of Oakland, CA.

Studio Space:
Use of 900 sf mosaic studio space with access to use of equipment (wetsaw, glass kiln, small ceramics kiln, hand tools, hammer/ hardie, tile stripper, some power tools).
Wall and floor space, worktables, lounge area, utility sink, high ceilings and lots of light. Locking door and direct access to outside work space in back courtyard. Double door to back can accommodate sculptural work up to 7' wide and 6' tall.
This is mosaic artist Laurel True's private studio (True Mosaics Studio) that is located inside the Institute of Mosaic Art building in Oakland, CA.

IMA Community:
Use of IMA classroom tools and supplies as well as classroom workspace.
Access to 5000 sq ft outdoor work area. Perfect for sculptural projects.
Quiet, private space or community time.

Projects:
Work on own independent work and/ or architectural or sculptural projects. Possible locations: IMA kitchen, entryway, back courtyard, sculptural project for sculpture garden or by proposal.

Solo Exhibit:
Artist Residency may culminate in solo exhibit in classroom exhibition space at IMA. Details can be arranged.

Promotion:
Artist in Residence will be profiled in the IMA newsletter in April or May as a Featured Artist.

Accommodations:
Use of Laurel True's one bedroom, furnished loft apartment in the Jingletown neighborhood (see info below), less than a block from IMA with designated parking space in front of entrance.

Apartment/ Loft Accommodations Details:
Approx 1000-1200 sf space. Large place for one or two by arrangement.
Skylights, radiant heat floors, disposal, great kitchen with basic kitchen appliances, internet, cute, colorful and funky. One big room with open kitchen downstairs, bathroom, pantry. Lots of light, big front window.
Upstairs has two small rooms- skylight and window.


Walk to Fruitvale BART, great arts neighborhood, cafes, restaurants close by, right over Park St. bridge from Alameda. Furnished/ totally set up. No cats or smoking. No exceptions.
