Mosaic Artwork for Pediatric Ward and Children's
Playroom at Mirebalais Hospital

We successfully raised funds for and COMPLETED the MOSAICS FOR MIREBALAIS HOSPITAL PROJECT, which included the creation of vibrant, playful ceramic tile mosaic murals and enhancements in the Pediatrics Ward and Children's Playroom for Mirebalais Hospital in Haiti.

Design development for this project was be done with the help of Haitian and American school children through a cross-cultural design process that will focus on the themes of nature, play and education, adding a soothing element to Haitian childrens' hospital experience.

Colorful mosaics now cover the walls of both the main pediatrics ward and the attached playroom, built especially for children at the hospital.

Thank you so much to PARTNERS IN HEALTH, to everyone who supported this project. A very special thanks to all the Bird and Butterfly Artists and there amazing fundraising efforts. And another very special thank you to SEATTLE MOSAIC ARTS for coordinating the Make A Star For Haiti Fundraiser and continued support in every way.

Mosaics at Mirebalais Hospital Phase One Update

My name is Laurel True and I am a professional artist and educator. I have specialized in public, architectural and community-based mosaic projects for the last 20 years.

Over the last year, I have been working with Partners In Health to raise funds to bring mosaic artwork to the walls, pavements and courtyards of Mirebalais Hospital, a state-of-the-art teaching hospital being built by Partners In Health, set to open its doors later this year.

In 2011, through grass-roots, community-driven fundraising, we successfully funded and created three architectural ceramic tile mosaic projects for Mirebalais Hospital with the help of Haitian tradespeople and artists.

We were able to fund and create these Phase One mosaic projects with the help of donors like you.

THANK YOU!
